Self-care for moms to be

Congrats, you are pregnant! These coming months are going to be like a rollercoaster for you. At times it might feel as if there is simply not time enough to prepare for the arrival of your little one. However, in these crucial times it is so important that you don’t forget “yourself”. Before you start furnishing the baby room, you need to make sure that ‘’you’’ are your number one priority and take good care of yourself. In this blog we will provide you with the best tips and tricks to make the journey of your pregnancy run smoothly!

Take rest

Growing a baby requires lots of energy. So taking lots of rest while being pregnant is really important. Remember that you are not only responsible for yourself anymore but also for the precious little one inside you. One of the symptoms of pregnancy is feeling tired all the time and you can completely blame your hormones for this. So, during this time sleep is very tempting to you. That’s why now is the time to take sleep seriously! The best way is to sleep overnight but your body does not always allow this. In that case, still try to take naps during the day if possible or at least sit with your legs up and eyes closed for stimulation of the blood flow as your blood pressure and sugar will be low during the first trimester. Don’t worry, this will only be during your first trimester. When your second trimester starts, you will feel that you are getting your energy back.

Keep exercising

As important as taking rest is, it is equally crucial to also exercise and move your body. By doing so your body will release the hormones endorphins which will make you feel good and enhance your mood. In fact, the more active you are, the more easy your body will find it to adjust to physical pregnancy changes such as weight gain and changing shapes. Not only that, it will also be easier to get back in shape after your delivery. However, don’t feel insecure about your physical appearance after you have given birth. It is absolutely okay to have put on weight and feel absolutely different, I mean you just put a human on earth and those extra kilos can look super gorgeous!

However, don’t tire yourself and try to keep up with your pregnancy process. It is absolutely normal to slow down as you come further in your pregnancy. There are multiple sports such as yoga and aerobics that have a positive impact on your health and mind. Nowadays there are also special group lessons for pregnant woman only. Have a look at those as they will be especially based on pregnancy exercises. You will also get to know other pregnant woman with whom you can relate.
